DEVELOPMENT
In May 2001 the school took a huge step of faith and purchased the Basenova campus in the south-west section of Almaty. Each year the student population grew significantly in size. It wasn't long before the membership realized that there was need for larger facilities, as there was no longer space in the present building to accommodate those families on the waiting list.
After a significant period of exploration, in April 2007, the school sold its Basenova campus and bought a beautiful 9.82 hectare (24 acres) piece of land to the west of Almaty. With the remaining finances from the sale contributing significantly toward the building of a new facility, the school plans to develop a campus to accommodate approximately 250 students.
The arrangement was made for the school to rent the Basenova facilities from the new owners for one year while the new campus was to be built. Those seeking to move the building process forward ran into one road block or delay after another. Significant complications were encountered in obtaining permission, blueprints, and other approvals. With the economic crash in the fall of 2007, the new owners decided not to resell the property or develop the property immediately as initially planned. Presently the school is in the position of still renting the Basenova facilities while it continues to move forward with its development project -- the construction of the new school campus; anticipating completion by the fall of 2010.
